Mathsoul Maths Posters Most Recent News

In order to further increase the affordability and accessability of Mathsoul Posters two calendars have been developed that feature 12 maths posters each. Both calendars run from July 2010 to June 2011 to align with academic school years.

The larger classroom calendar features 12 My-Story occupational posters, and when open is A2 size. The other calendar opens to A3 size, and features a selection of Face Lifter and Well-Said mathsoul posters.

Two new Mathsoul websites have been activated today to completment the existing global maths posters site at address www.mathsoul.com. There is a new site at:

1. www.mathsoul.co.uk to service maths teachers needs for posters in the UK, and another at
2. www.mathsoul.co.nz for maths teachers needs for posters in New Zealand.

These two specific regional sites have a unique front page with tabbed information and maths posters products of regional importance, and then each links to the main global Mathsoul Maths Posters shop where all poster products can be browsed and currency can be set according to the customer's wish.

The results from the December 2008 posters survey of Heads of Department Secondary School Maths Teachers have been compiled. Results were very positive:

1. 100% of respondents said the Lynda-Anne maths poster was a useful resource.
2. The preferred poster size was A1, with some suppport for A0 and A2.
3. Maths teacher comments were generally very positive. Here are a selection;
   
   • ‘Great layout, clear questioning.’
   • ‘Great display of real-life maths. Looks really great on the wall – covers a wide range of maths & matching worksheet.’
   • ‘Good graphic design.’
   • ‘Interesting examples of mathematics ...  in a work setting.’
   • ‘Laminated, real life context for maths classroom, bright.’
   •  ‘Model is young enough for students to relate to.’
   • ‘Inspirational, engaging – great visually – attractive ‘bright’ today person.’
   • ‘Very modern – they will speak to the modern mindset – images are inspirational – sentences too long or in linear formation.’‘Eye-catching and a quick lesson in one shot.
   • ‘Interesting relevant topic & real.’
   • ‘Very easy to read’

The winner of the associated draw for the free frame and Mathsoul maths posters was Chris Hedges at Kaitaia College, way noth in New Zealand (down under).

New My-Story Free Maths Poster. Lynda-Anne GIB Clicks and Polynomials, the thirteenth Mathsoul My-Story poster has been released, and is available free from the webshop printed in A1 size (590 x 840mm ~ 18" x 24") and laminated, free whilst stocks last. (Actually for £0.01)
These are free maths posters due to poster sponsorship by GIB plasterboard. Their staff member Lynda-Anne features in her marketing role with PPC internet advertising. These free posters are all printed with metric units and $ for currency, but customised versions are also available at normal pricing.
Maths coverage on this free maths poster is extensive (algebra, statistics and calculus) meaning there is something for every grade that comes through the secondary & high school maths classroom - decimal division, linear equations, sequences and series, curve fitting with cubic equations, logarithmic equations, power curves, and differentiation for maximisation calculus.

Early mathematics teacher feedback on this maths poster includes "inspirational, engaging - great visually", and "attractive bright today person linked well to questions and graphs".

Mathsoul mathematics posters launched to high schools, secondary schools, coomprehensive schools, middle schools and home schools markets; for GCSE, A Levels and Diploma schools.

The initial range of Mathsoul My-Story maths posters is algebra, and tables & graphs centric due to the fundamental importance of these topics and skills. Ratio and percentages were also well covered.

Planned further maths posters additions to the range, over time, are planned, in no particular order, to cover;

• maths posters on number patters and sequences and series
• various development in the history of maths and the philosophy of maths posters
• maths posters on fractals and the mandelbrot function
• more on cartesian geometry, polyhedra, 2D & 3D shapes, angles and circles, polar notatoin, coordinates maths posters

• mathematical modelling and statistics including curve fitting for linear, quadratic, cubic, power, logarithmic, piecewise, and other functions maths posters

• probability, statistics normal function and confidence intervals maths posters
• maths posters on mathematical design, transformations, Escher type diagrams
• calculus, integration, differentiation, maximums, minimums, points of inflection maths posters
